The City of Darlington has a Manager/Council form of government and the City Manager, Howard Garland, is responsible for preparing a city budget.  Darlington City Council has final authority over budget approval.  The City of Darlington budget runs from June 1 to July 30. 

Gloria Pridgen is the Clerk/Treasurer for the City of Darlington.  Gloria lives in Mechanicsville and is active in the New Jerusalem Apostolic Church of Darlington.  Gloria is a 1974 graduate of Mayo High School and has worked for the City of Darlington for 28 years.  Ms. Pridgen had two children and can be reached in her office at 410 Pearl Street in the City of Darlington Administration Building or call 843-398-4000 Extension 102.
